The
Polonnaruwa-Somawathiya Road was under water and impassable since this
morning due to floods at Sungavila, Disaster Management Centre (DMC)
said.Meanwhile, the DMC said Polonnaruwa-Baticaloa Road too was under water at Gallella disrupting the movement of traffic.
The DMC said ten sluice gates of the Parakrama Samudraya and 6 sluice gates of the Kaudulla reservoir have been opened due to the heavy rains experienced in the area.
