Crown slips as Miss Universe 2015 host names the wrong woman as winner (Video)

Usually pageants are pretty boring and predictable but this year’s Miss Universe had a moment that felt like it came straight out of a Hollywood movie.

Host Steve Harvey mistakenly names Colombian woman as Miss Universe 2015, to later correct himself and say Philippines is the actual winner — with Colombia runner-up.

A 26-year-old actress and model from the Philippines was crowned Miss Universe after host Steve Harvey mistakenly first announced that Miss Colombia had won the 64th edition of the pageant, broadcast live on the Fox television network.

Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, a Filipino-German actress and model born in Stuttgart and raised in Cagayan de Oro, was announced as runner-up to Miss Colombia, before Harvey announced to the audience that he had made a mistake.
