An event was held inline with the Colombo Municipal Council’s 150th
anniversary where employees were felicitated under the auspices of
President Maithripala Sirisena.The president launched the new website of the Colombo Municipal Council on Monday, December 21.
Presdient Sirisena stated that a country’s unique identity resides in the villages of the country where every major city embraces revolutionary change in the commercial society and the new technological world.
He went on to note that the city and the village should not be conjoined at any point, as the knowledge, intelligence and experience of people residing in a particular city or village, should be reflected in that city or village.
He added that on January 8. which is the one year mark of his elected presidency, they will unveil the Megapolis Development Plan together with his fellow friend Minister Patali Champika, the prime minister, and other ministers.
